Who we are
Johan Smit Manager
I begun my hairdressing career later in life - I always enjoyed having a go at cutting my friends' hair throughout the years, and was always told that I had a natural flair.
As a restaurant manager for 10 years in South Africa, Dubai and on a series of cruise ships, I finally put down roots in the beautiful county of Yorkshire. With this new start in life, I wanted to pursue my passion... and that was HAIR...
I have been qualified for over 7 years now. I am Toni & Guy trained and have completed several courses with HOB Salons, Matrix and Fudge, keeping me on-trend with what's happening in the world of hair.
Ladies' short haircuts and colours are some of my favourite things to do, but my speciality is men's hairdressing. I love what I do – every day is a different adventure, and I'm looking forward to starting that journey with you and your hair...

I then furthered my career when I moved to Smitin Hair, where I have completed my NVQ Level 3 and become an enthusiastic stylist.
I have a bubbly personality and take pride in providing excellent customer service. I am always excited to learn new techniques, and I love attending hair courses and visiting hair exhibitions.
Ladies' haircuts, highlights and prom hair are my favourite things to do.
Freya Graduate Stylist
My journey began at 15 when I worked as a Saturday Assistant at Smitin Hair. When I turned 16 and left school I knew I wanted to pursue a career in hairdressing.
I started my apprenticeship in a West row salon then returned to Smitin Hair a year later as soon as an apprenticeship position became available and I LOVE IT.... With lots of in house training at Smitin Hair and continuing to attended West Row Training Academy I completed my NVQ Level 2. I've had the opportunity to attend hair shows and learn from some of the best hairdressers in the industry.
I'm now working hard to complete my NVQ Level 3(Advanced hairdressing). My favorite thing to do are long haircuts balayage. My hairdressing career has only just began but I'm excited to show off my skills.
I started my hairdressing apprenticeship straight after I finished school at Smitin Hair. I'm currently training toward my NVQ level 2 so I'm always watching everything that goes on in the salon, and getting involved any chance I get.
I attend West Row Training Academy every 2 weeks and do regular training with in the salon so I'm always on the hunt for willing models to practice on..... please just allow extra time as I want to be the best I can be, and there's so much more I want to learn.
I'm a open minded person who is driven by my goals. I am enjoying the journey to become a stylist. I give the best head massages and make and excellent cup of tea but I am focused on my end goal and that's to become the best hair stylist I can be.
