Andrea
Owner of Smitin Hair
With over two decades of experience in the hairdressing industry, Andrea brings creativity, precision, and deep passion to every client she works with. Before founding Smitin Hair, Andrea built her craft in internationally renowned salons including Vidal Sassoon and Toni & Guy, before joining Steiner – the world’s largest spa company at sea.
During her time on the luxury cruise ship Navigator of the Seas, Andrea gained extensive experience in wedding and special‑occasion styling, while honing a high level of customer service that still defines her work today.
In 2010, Andrea laid down roots in Farsley and opened Smitin Hair. Dedicated to nurturing new talent, she went on to complete her assessor qualification and successfully trained and mentored apprentices who grew under her guidance before moving on to their own journeys.
As Smitin evolved, Andrea found herself working increasingly one‑to‑one with clients. Alongside her own personal wellness journey, she began to feel a deeper calling – wondering how she could support women not only with great hair, but also with their wellbeing. This led her to enrol with CPHT, the leading training provider for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.
Today, Andrea is proud to support women with both their hair and their wellness – a lifelong dream come true. She now offers one‑to‑one hypnotherapy sessions as well as group sessions, creating a safe, nurturing space where women can feel lighter, supported, and truly themselves.

Johan
Hair System Specialist
Born and bred South African man. After working as a restaurant manager in South Africa then for high end restaurants and cocktail bars in Dubai then going on to work for series of luxury cruise ships as a restaurant manager and wine sommelier, Johan’s customer service is second to none!
Johan always did have a passion for hairdressing and used to have a line of crew waiting for their haircut even before his hairdressing career started.
After meeting Yorkshire lass Andrea on the ships he decided to lay down roots in Farsley. After the opening of Smitin hair in 2010 Johan decided to take his Love for hair further and began his hairdressing training. Once Johan had completed his NVQ level 2 and 3 he then invested in 1-1 training courses, seminars and demonstrations with Internationally renowned salons Toni & Guy and HOB salon. After achieving a Toni & Guy cutting diploma Johan went on to further his colour knowledge and techniques with Wella, Matrix and fudge.
After working backstage for London Men’s fashion week, Johan’s passion for short hair transpired. Johan has a special talent for creating ladies and men’s short hairstyles.
With the issue of hair loss been close to Johan’s heart and a wearer of a hair system, Johan specialises in men’s non-surgical hair replacements. Johan understands how life changing it can be.
